QUOTE OF THE DAY

"We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities." Ralph Waldo Emerson

An early Happy New Year to all. After a good week of training and looking forward to the Oakville 5km resolution walk tomorrow, I thought that now may be the time to post my walking and personal fitness goals for the new year
So here we go--I guess one is committed once you put them in print.

1)To maintain or improve my current level of fitness -- in order to improve I would like to drop another 9 lbs which would take me down to 171lbs -- a loss of 80 lbs since my starting point in januaryy of 2006. Also I would like to solidify and maintain a 32in waist and drop my body fat % down to about 10% which would mean an 18% drop since my starting point.

2) Competition Performance Goals
To complete the following race distances in the outlined goal times
5 km = or less than 34mins
10 km = or less than 1:09:00
21.1 km = or less than 2:20:00
42.2 km = or less than 5:00:00

3) To provide a positive role model and be a vocal advocat for this sport that I owe so much too
AND I ALMOST FORGOT

4) To get close to Lee Scottt in a Half Marathon or the 15 km Midsummer Nights Run

5) To do the Ottawa Half Marathon with my virtual son Bryan K --- by the way Bryan, I wont be age division we go for -- it will be for all the marbles -- Remember -- Age is no barrier!

6) To either train or race with my other virtual friend Sarah --- I hope we can do the Chili together

7) To lead a successful Marathon Clinic and if successful, to do either another Marathon or a Half Marathon Clinic in summer of 07

Well thats it folks -- I dont know how realistic some of them are but they are goals to strive for and as I have said before "Goals are birdges to our Dreams"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
